Function:
Catnip stimulates the central nervous system and relieves muscular spasm.

Uses:
* Leaves brewed into a tea produce increased sweating to reducing fevers and is also an excellent cure for insomnia, hay fever and nausea. It is also beneficial for calming hyperactive children.
* Mashed catnip leaves can be made into a poultice to instantly relieve the pain of aching teeth and gums.
* As an eye bath it can relieve eye inflammation and swelling due to allergies, cold and flu, and excess alcohol consumption.

Guidelines:
Catnip is available dried. The fresh leaves have a mint-like scent and can be added to salads or brewed into a tea or poultice.

Interactions:
Catnip should not be taken during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
