Pear Crumble Pie


1 Tbsp. honey
11/2 Tbsp. arrowroot
Dash nutmeg
1 cup apple or pear juice (unsweetened)
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
4 – 5 pears, halved
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup chopped seeds or walnuts
1/4 tsp. cinnamon


In a pot, combine first 4 ingredients and mix until arrowroot dissolves. Cook over heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add next 3 ingredients. Arrange pear halves in pie shell and pour syrup mixture over them. In a bowl, combine crumble topping ingredients and sprinkle over pie filling. Bake at 425º for 20 to 25 minutes.
